In May last year, the incumbent President of Malawi, Peter Mutharika, wins the elections. But it is apparently so fraudulent that some ballots have even been edited with Tipp-ex. And even then his victory is very tight.

The Malawians flock to the streets. The protest is so intense at times that the President does not dare to drive to his palace in the capital. If he uses the police to crush the protests, the army intervenes. The military protects the right to protest of the civilians. Numbers one and two of the army top are fired.
