Making Money Selling Stinky Shoes – A Bizarre Business

There are many strange things that you can make money from in this world – including farts in boxes.

Now British Leah Beth (25) is coming forward and telling what she earns money from:

Shoe. Stinky shoes.

– The more they stink, the better, she tells the news agency South West News Service (SWNS).

Costs money

According to SWNS, the highly unusual way of making money is now attracting a lot of attention in England, where Leah Beth comes from.

She comes from the town of Doncaster, which is best known for being a railway hub in the middle of England.

Leah Beth has left Doncaster, and now works as a dancer in the party town of Magaluf on Mallorca.

Her shoe consumption is therefore large, and around every three months Beth has to buy new shoes to dance in.

She says they cost just under NOK 1,000.

– It is very expensive to buy shoes so often, she tells the news agency.

Surprising interest

She also says that for a number of years she sold used clothes and bags on a recycling website, before she got what she herself believes to be a brilliant idea.

– There were many people there who asked if I also sold shoes. Then I discovered that there was a market for this, she says.

She says that there was too much interest in used shoes – and preferably shoes that smell bad.

– When I realized that people actually want to buy dirty, smelly shoes, I started selling them for more than I had bought them for. Why spend money on new shoes when you can get them for free, she asks.

Bizarre requests

The vast majority of buyers are men, says Leah Beth.

She says that there are many men who like well-used women’s shoes, and that she “knows well” what kind of context the men use the shoes in.

Beth says that she constantly finds that men come to her with very specific wishes.

– Some make bizarre requests. A man asked me to chew a piece of gum and stick it – and a snap – on the sole. Then I said he had to pay 50 euros extra, she says.

Sold for almost twice as much

In the past year, she has sold shoes full of toe ice on a recycling website – and often for a larger sum than she bought them for.

– The last pair I sold went for 170 euros, she says.

170 euros corresponds to approximately NOK 1,900 at today’s exchange rate.

Ren business

The 25-year-old says she is often contacted by men who pretend they want to buy her shoes, but who really want to get to know her.

Leah Beth says she doesn’t want to get to know these men.

For her, selling shoes is pure business, and a new – and very special – way of making money.

– I answer them briefly, and all communication is about the trade. I have no problem withghost» people, she says.
