Mahfud MD Says: 295 Land Certificates in the Name of Panji Gumilang and Family

WARTAKOTALIVECOM, JAKARTA — Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Mahfud Md revealed that there was misuse of Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) wealth which was allegedly committed by Panji Gumilang and his family.

Misuse in the form of land ownership which has now been reported to Bareskrim Polri.

Mahfud said the land ownership data was obtained from the National Land Agency (BPN). Until now, BPN is still looking for land belonging to Panji Gumilang.

Mahfud revealed that there were at least 295 land certificates in the names of Panji Gumilang and his family.

Mahfud said that his party had examined the National Defense Agency (BPN) regarding the data.

“Still looking for pseudonyms, certificates that may use other names, so now they have not been found and only 295 land certificates have been found,” said Mahfud.

Mahfud revealed that his party also received six other names from West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.

“There are six other names for Panji Gumilang,” said Mahfud.

Previously, Mahfud said that as many as 145 accounts containing the activities of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) and the leadership of the Panji Gumilang Islamic Boarding School had been frozen.

“Regarding the crime of money laundering, we have frozen 145 out of 367 accounts that are suspected according to PPATK (Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center) to have links with Islamic boarding schools or Al Zaytun activities, Panji Gumilang activities,” said Mahfud.

According to him, PPATK suspected that these accounts led to money laundering.

“For example, the crime of embezzlement, the crime of fraud, the crime of violation of the foundation. It was a crime to use BOS funds (school operational assistance),” said Mahfud.

“All of that was put in the context of money laundering by embezzlement, by fraud, because of the Foundation Law,” he said again.
