Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md he said there have been many reports of difficulty fully disclosing cases due to back-and-forth issues. He said the case wasn’t just a case illegal mine.
“Many cases of mafia not only illegal extraction (illegal mining), land mafia and so on is very difficult. After you want to solve it, is it difficult or not, so what? Not Power? Behind this, in many cases. And there are many reports,” Mahfud said during the Year-End Notes for the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, on Thursday (12/15/ 2022).
Mahfud also said that there was a case that was considered wrong, which created confusion in the law enforcement agencies. This is because this is an old case that needs to be followed up again.
“There was one instance where it was clearly wrong for us to send a team there. As soon as the team was sent, law enforcement officials were confused so that one said sir, this was what we didn’t know before , he is alone Keep on,” he said.
Mahfud then spoke about the case of corruption committed by unscrupulous cadres of the Democratic Party. He said there were officials involved and he was not being followed up.
“In the past there were people who, when the Democratic Party was corrupted on a large scale, in the results of their investigations, were convicted. Several officials were involved in the considerations. There were ministers, there were inspectors general, there it’s been a lot of guardians who got guardians. That wasn’t followed through,” he said.
Mahfud said he also visited the KPK when Taufiequrachman was still the head of the anti-corruption agency. Mahfud was surprised as several parties involved in corruption cases were not followed up.
“For example, the KPK, I came to the KPK during Mr. Taufiequrachman’s time, I processed it and then I came, how come this was not followed up, it was stated in the decision that it was about this, about this, ” Mahfud said.
Mahfud also admitted that processing cases was complicated corruption involving many parties. Mahfud then said that elders who had claimed corruption cases had been around for a long time, but no one dared to speak out.
“Yes, it’s complicated, because for example, person A should implicate person B, person D. Before person A is suspected, D is finished, before person D is finished, first exonerates B and so on and so on and so on. so on, and I understand that complexity, this is not easy,” he said.
“It’s not resolved, it’s still under investigation, let alone inside KPK extension no instructions were given, it was still running. All the same, about this support, I think it’s been a long time, but no one dares just talking,” He added.
