Accordingly, the MU first team player participated in the match against Lens at Old Trafford on Saturday. But these players did not feature in the friendly match against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin a day later.
Maguire was among the players who did not appear in the match against Lens but was named in the 2 MU squad against Athletic Bilbao. Although new MU captain Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane and Casemiro did not play with the Spanish club, Maguire was still not given the captain’s armband by Ten Hag.

MU once rejected an offer to buy Maguire from West Ham for £ 20 million. United want around £35m for the defender and West Ham hope that price drops before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.
