Magali Berdah affair: cyberharassment, death threats, lawsuits… where are we? We take stock

But the attacks against the businesswoman – who was the subject of a preliminary investigation opened by the Paris Prosecutor’s Office in September 2022 – were also the source of deplorable cyberharassment. Result ? In October 2023, Elie Yaffa, alias Booba, found himself indicted and placed under judicial supervision.for aggravated online moral harassment“.

During a press conference on September 14, 2022, Magali Berdah also singled out the rapper: “This man who calls himself a whistleblower is a harasser who stirs up hatred on social networks and elsewhere. Everyone must take responsibility. And as for me, I stand tall and I will not be silent… I live to the rhythm of a man. It all depends on him, his moods and his desires. It’s in a pack“

But where exactly are we today?

Well, on November 27, the trial of 13 Internet users finally opened, against Magali Berdah – recently sentenced to pay blogger Sam Zirah 2,000 euros in damages for having abused “the right to take legal action” after having attacked him for defamation. These 13 Internet users are accused of cyberharassment. The plaintiff, in other words the founder of Shauna Events, readily mentions misogynistic insults, repeated attacks and even explicit death threats.

“You deserve to be beheaded“

It is at the Paris court that 13 Internet users are on trial for cyberharassment. In what the complainant describes when confronted with the defendants in this trial, we find mentions of death threats.

Example ? “You deserve to be beheaded“. And this would only be a glimpse, relate France 3, of the 70 hateful or insulting messages received by the business woman from some of the individuals who will find themselves facing the judge. An infirm share, according to the businesswoman, of all the insulting messages received in total: they reach the staggering figure of 120,000…

And the complainant expressed herself: “I lost three quarters of my friends: as soon as they appear with me, they are harassed. I wish these people [les accusés, ndlr] realize what they have done. They demanded that I be beheaded and burned alive. I have been credited with all the scams in the entire world. I was made to look like a monster“.

This trial will not end there. A new one will take place in mid-December and a third at the end of January. Because a total of 28 Internet users will be tried for cyberharassment against the queen of influencers – who in 2019 was sentenced to a one-year suspended prison sentence for “abuse of weakness” et “whitening“.

Suffice to say that the “Berdah soap opera” will continue in 2024. So definitely something to follow.
