Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro denounced this Tuesday 1-S that his US counterpart, Donald Trump, “approved” his assassination with snipers, a plan for which, he assured, “they are trying to move” a group of shooters towards the South American country.
“Donald Trump approved that they kill me, that they kill me, listen, I am not exaggerating,” Maduro said during a government act broadcast on VTV.
“They are trying to move a group of snipers or to buy snipers in Venezuela to kill me, Donald Trump decided and activated it, he has no ethics,” added the president.
Maduro made the complaint while offering his first assessment of the pardons he granted on Monday to 110 deputies and opposition leaders, who were imprisoned, asylees or in exile.
Along these lines, the president pointed out that he has been “a victim of the most brutal attacks” by the US government, which he accused of saying “atrocities” about his ethics and conduct.
“(The United States) put (a price of) 15 million dollars on my head,” Maduro recalled, after the Trump government filed charges against the Venezuelan president on March 26 for alleged narco-terrorism.
So the United States offered $ 15 million for any information leading to the capture of Maduro, who has governed Venezuela since 2013.
Maduro pointed out that, despite having the “rifle” of these accusations pointed at his head, he dared to sign the pardons, which “outraged” many of his supporters.
On July 26, Maduro also accused Colombian President Iván Duque of planning his assassination with snipers.
“There are groups that want to kill me, that are bringing snipers to kill me, from Colombia (…), Iván Duque is training snipers there to kill me,” said the Venezuelan president at that time.
But, like today, then Maduro did not offer proof of his complaints.
