French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky signed a bilateral security and defense cooperation agreement in Paris today under which France will provide Ukraine with additional military aid totaling 3 billion euros.
In his statements to journalists, the French president emphasized that France will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary and said that Ukraine will become a member of the European Union and that it hopes to become a member of NATO.
The French president has also been highly critical of Russia, both over so-called cyber attacks and rumors that Russia is ready to use nuclear weapons in space. “Regarding the last issue, Russia must quickly provide an explanation,” he said.
