Luke, son of Lance Armstrong, faces minor sexual assault charge

Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong’s son Luke was arrested for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl almost three years ago.

Luke David Armstrong, 21, faces a charge of child sexual assault, according to an Austin Police Department report.

He was released on bail Tuesday, reports the Daily Mail USA.

The alleged assault took place in June 2018 after a party in the Texas capital when Armstrong was 18, police said. The victim, who was two years his junior, reported the incident to police last November.

A lawyer for Armstrong denied the allegations and claimed his client had a consensual relationship lasting several months with the victim, who has not been publicly named.

“What happened three years ago in high school was neither a crime nor a sexual assault, ” attorney Randy Leavitt told KXAN.“ It was a consensual relationship at the time and s ‘is pursued consensually between two young people, the two eventually breaking up. These charges shouldn’t have been laid and certainly not three years later. “
