Lukashenko Approves Start of Work on Amending Gas Contract with Russia – Economy and business

TASS, January 25th. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree approving the draft protocol on amending the agreement with Russia on gas supplies. Document published Friday on the national legal Internet portal.

“To approve the draft protocol on amending the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for pricing (tariffs) for the supply of natural gas to the Republic of Belarus and its transportation through pipelines located in the Republic of Belarus dated November 25, 2011 as the basis for negotiations, “the text says.

In addition, Lukashenko authorized the government to negotiate a draft protocol, allowing it to be amended without any fundamental character.

Gazprom and Belarus signed a protocol on gas prices for January-February 2020 and addenda to contracts for transit and fuel supply, extending them until 2021, on December 31 last year. According to the signed documents, the contracted volumes of deliveries and transit in 2020 remained at the level of 2019. In January-February, Belarus will receive gas at the price of 2019 – $ 127 per 1 thousand cubic meters. m
