On December 15, singer Luis Fonsi confirmed his willingness to help in the campaign “Thanks and Giving”, An initiative promoted for the benefit of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the United States for the treatment of children with cancer.
During an interview with the program A new day from Telemundo, the Puerto Rican assured that although 2020 was tragic globally due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), cancer continued to claim lives, especially in children.
“It is to give thanks and always think of all the children who are fighting cancer. It has been a difficult year for all of us, but the cancer is still there, present, and we have to remain united to help, ”he said.
“What better gift than to be able to help and the mission is that no child dies of cancer,” he added.
In the same way, the interpreter of “Llegaste tú” and “Nada es para siempre” expressed his admiration for the work that is carried out at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“It’s a magic place. I love being a spokesperson for this place that has changed my life, ”he said.
The Puerto Rican singer ended his speech by asking his followers to join the “Thanks and Giving” campaign.
On the other hand, in his personal sphere, Luis Fonsi has not been alien to cancer disease. As it is remembered, his ex-wife and mother of his children, Adamari López, was diagnosed with breast cancer and despite the fact that he supported her during her treatment, her marriage went into crisis and ended in divorce in 2009.
