Luhut’s story has an exciting chat with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia

Jakarta

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan tells his story of meeting the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two also chatted together about investment in Indonesia, including the construction of the nation’s capital city (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

The following is the story of Luhut’s meeting with Mohammed Bin Salman, quoted from Instagram @luhut.pandjaitan, Saturday (5/3/2022)

In establishing a good relationship with anyone, the first impression must be made as good as possible. Indeed, this is not the first time I have been assigned by President @jokowi to visit Saudi Arabia, but this is the first time I have been received so warmly by the Crown Prince of the Kingdom, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz at a direct invitation from him.

I was delighted when I was greeted in person by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh. Especially when it turns out that we both agreed to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the Republic of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

I also told how Indonesia is currently making a lot of progress. Apart from that we are currently preparing for the construction of the New National Capital, I also said that we are very open to cooperation in terms of new and renewable energy to cooperation in environmental conservation. One thing was said after the meeting was over where the Crown Prince said “If Indonesia advances, Saudi Arabia will also advance”.

At the end of the meeting, I conveyed a special message from President Joko Widodo to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so that they would be willing to attend the G-20 Presidency meeting which will be held in Bali later. Like a tit for tat, it turns out that the Crown Prince is already planning to visit Indonesia and meet directly with President Joko Widodo in the near future in order to follow up on all the results of the meeting held today.

Luhut added that he had met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih and several CEOs of Saudi Arabian companies. The meeting discussed the realization of a number of investment plans for companies from Saudi Arabia in Indonesia.

“In the middle of the meeting, I conveyed my wish that the potential investment from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia’s investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia could go hand in hand,” said Luhut.
