Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan re-appointed by the President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) became the Chairman of the National Water Resources (SDA) Council. In this way, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has held several positions.
Indonesian Political Parameter Executive Director Adi Prayitno assessed that there was meaning behind Luhut’s re-election to Jokowi’s position. He called this further strengthened Luhut as ‘prime minister‘ in Jokowi’s government.
“This reinforces the LBP’s nickname as ‘prime minister‘ which often becomes public gossip. His position and role is very visible powerful. Especially for something that is considered urgent and important in this country,” Adi said when contacted, Saturday (9/4/2022).
Adi further said that Luhut was actually re-elected to speed up Jokowi’s wishes. However, on the other hand, he said, this is increasingly impressive that Jokowi considers other ministers to be unreliable.
“The position of the LBP that powerful On the one hand, this is good for accelerating the President’s wishes, but at the same time impressing Jokowi’s other ministers as unreliable and failing to carry out the President’s mandate. Only LBP can be relied on. There have been many examples. It has become an open secret, as if the other ministers are limited to accommodating political interests,” he said.

Adi also considered that the reappointment of Luhut to the position showed that Jokowi was comfortable with Luhut. He also said that Jokowi should not have many ministers, only Luhut who took care of many things.
“Jokowi only seems to believe in LBP to take care of many things. No wonder the public then sees LBP the one and only Jokowi’s prime minister. There are so many public names for LBP, start prime minister to the minister of all affairs. The fact is that it is. Jokowi seems comfortable if LBP takes care of many things in this country,” he explained.
“It is not good to have the impression that other ministers are unreliable. If this is the case, the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet should not need many ministers. There are only 10-15 duplicate LBP ministers who can take care of many things,” he continued.
