Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan (LBP) met with Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They discussed the development of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago.
Luhut revealed the meeting on his Instagram account, as seen Friday (4/3/2022). Luhut said this was the first time he had met MBS in Saudi.
“In establishing a good relationship with anyone, the first impression must be made as good as possible. Indeed this is not the first time I have been given the task by President Joko Widodo to visit Saudi Arabia, but this is the first time I have been received so warmly by the Crown Prince of the Kingdom, Prince Mohammed. bin Salman bin Abdulaziz at a direct invitation from him,” said Luhut.
Luhut also shared photos of his meeting with Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In the photo, Luhut is wearing a suit embracing Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the two are smiling.
It can be seen in the photo that Luhut uploaded, MBS embracing Luhut with his right hand. MBS does not wear a head covering (kefiyeh/kufiya).
Luhut felt happy when he was greeted directly by Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh. Luhut said Indonesia and Saudi Arabia had agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations.
“I also told how Indonesia is currently making a lot of progress, apart from currently preparing for the construction of the new state capital, I also said that we are very open to cooperation in terms of new and renewable energy to cooperation in environmental conservation. One thing was said after the meeting was over where the Crown Prince said ‘If Indonesia advances, Saudi Arabia will also advance’,” said Luhut.
On that occasion, Luhut also met with Saudi Arabian Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih and several CEOs of Saudi Arabian companies. The meeting discussed the realization of a number of investment plans for companies from Saudi Arabia in Indonesia.
