The head coach of the Italian national team, Luciano Spalletti, said that his team honestly qualified for the final part of Euro 2024 in the match against the Ukrainian national team.
“We didn’t steal anything, but we really deserved to qualify for the European Championship. Using this incident against us without taking into account our team’s performance is wrong. The match was difficult due to the pressure. The incident may be controversial, but it is certainly not as clear-cut as many want to say. I’m disappointed,” Spalletti was quoted as saying by Ansa.it.
