Defensive support signs for another year, the top scorer changes within the DEL 2
EHC Freiburg is setting the course for the coming season and is busy working on the squad. While those responsible were able to agree on another year of cooperation with defender Luca Trinkberger, top scorer Tyson McLellan will leave the wolves in the direction of a league competitor.
The 24-year-old Trinkberger was unlucky with injuries or corona infections in his first two seasons in Breisgau. When he was on the ice, however, the versatile defender always brought defensive stability and maximum commitment. He would also like to do this for the wolves in the 2022/23 season.
Peter Salmik, sporting director of the Wolves, says about the contract extension: “Luca fought back quickly after this difficult time, accepted his situation excellently and continued to improve. We are very satisfied with his performance and want to continue this together in the coming season Remove.” In the coming season, Trinkberger will also meet his older brother David on the ice. He signed a contract with the DEL relegated Krefeld Pinguine.

Tyson McLellan will leave the club. The American came to Breisgau from Nuremberg before the season and was able to advance as the EHC’s top scorer in the main round with 60 points in 51 games. After a season in the Wolves jersey, the right-handed shooter will leave the club for the new season and try his luck with a league competitor who has not yet been named.
“We very much regret that Tyson has decided against the offers we made and instead joins a league competitor,” said sporting director Salmik. “Ultimately, of course, we accept this decision and continue to wish him only the best.”
