The girl survived
The man, named David Doyle, hit a 14-year-old girl in the back of the head. She was rushed to hospital, but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Doyle was arrested shortly after by police. He has now been served with suspicion of aggravated assault and battery, and is currently in custody.
