French fashion house Louis Vuitton has managed to unite the two best footballers of the 21st century in a single photograph as part of its latest advertising campaign. In it, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo face off in a new rivalry, but this time playing chess on an exclusive briefcase from the luxury brand.

“Victory is a state of mind”, reads the advertisement released this Saturday on social networks. The artistic work belongs to the American Annie Leibovitz, considered the best photographer in the world and famous, among others, for being the last person to portray the musician John Lennon.

The snapshot, without a doubt, has fascinated and moved not only football fans but also the general public of the Internet, and is that in just over two hours since Ronaldo posted it on Instagram (owned by Meta classified as an extremist organization in Russia) already had more than 12 million “likes” and —up to the publication of this article— already exceeded 17 million. Meanwhile, in the profile of Messi has already passed the 14 million interactions.
