Lotus Eletre: The Electric SUV Setting Sales Records in 2022

The car company recorded 17,000 sales in the first half of the year alone, despite the fact that 1,500 cars sold per year could be considered a success so far. The electric SUV named Eletre is responsible for the largest share of this year’s orders. It reached Chinese customers in March of this year, and the first customers in Europe will arrive at the end of the summer. The car is manufactured in Wuhan, China.

The Eletre offers from 611 hp and 710 Nm in the basic version to 917 hp and 984 Nm in the top R version. Two electric motors draw energy from a 112kWh battery. Prices start at 89,500 pounds (2.5 million crowns) and the R version costs from 120 thousand pounds (3.4 million crowns).

However, not only eletre pulls. The Emira model, which still has an internal combustion engine and is made in the UK, was chosen by over 2,200 people in the first half of the year, which alone is a 381% increase compared to fiscal 2022, according to the carmaker.

A large electric SUV will probably not be a good choice for purist fans of the brand, but like the Porsche Cayenne twenty years ago, it will obviously very quickly become a model that will make money for the development of sports cars.
