If you look at the sky this night, or tomorrow night, you have the chance to see two planets very close to each other. Venus and Jupiter will almost touch. At least, that’s what it seems to us: actually the planets are millions of kilometers apart.
This appearance is not new: once a year the planets seem to be much closer together than usual. But, this year it will seem even closer, and it won’t happen again until 2039. Starting tomorrow morning, the planets will move away from each other again, but they can still be admired close together this entire weekend.
