Look.. Landslide engulfs several cars in Egypt

The Fifth Settlement area, east of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, witnessed a freak accident, when a landslide engulfed cars, causing them to crash.
The freak incident occurred on South 90th Street, which is a vital street in the area, as it led to the accumulation of cars and a traffic jam. The authorities cordoned off the area, recovered the cars and brought traffic back to normal.

For its part, Egypt’s interior ministry said the examination revealed that a car had fallen into a hole in one of the areas of the assembly police station in Cairo, noting that its owner had been summoned, in he said his car had fallen into a 2-metre-deep excavation area for sewage work carried out by a company.

A wave of bad weather hit Egypt’s governorates on Sunday evening and early Monday morning, with heavy rains and snowfalls accompanied by thunder, lightning and winds that halted irrigation and paralyzed life.

The authorities have declared a state of extreme emergency and the Ministry of Local Development has set up an operations room to follow the efforts to deal with the rains and the wave of bad weather in the governorates.

For his part, Major General Hisham Amna, minister of local development, followed the situation in the governorates with some governors to follow up the measures taken to deal with the rains and the suction and withdrawal of water pools.

The minister directed by quickly addressing the puddles of rainwater that exist in some places, both in cities and towns on main and secondary roads, as well as in villages, and the presence of vacuum cars in the streets and drawing water from them on a regular basis in way not to create problems for citizens and to safeguard their safety.
