Together with Ventspils residents, Zaķis has won three Latvian champion titles and has also become the champion of the Baltic Basketball League (BBL).

Last season, Zaķis scored an average of 13 points in 22 matches in the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League (LIBL) joint championship, which was the best performance in the Kurzeme team. He also won an average of 5.1 balls under the basket and scored once.

In the FIBA ​​European Cup he played in 12 games Ventspils scored an average of 11.5 points and won 6.2 rebounds.
