Long Island Dance Professional Facing Federal Charges for Sexual Exploitation of Minor

NEW YORK — A Long Island dance professional who has taught for nearly two decades and performed with the likes of Ariana Grande is now facing a federal charge in connection with the sex crimes case that arrested him earlier this month, according to court documents.

Jordan Viscomi, former instructor of David Sanders Dance Dynamics on Sunrise Highway in Oakdale, he was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor following an investigation by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. That charge follows his arrest on multiple counts of using a child in a sexual performance, promoting a sexual performance by a child, disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child.

Viscomi pleaded not guilty to those charges in his earlier appearance.

Court documents indicate that the federal charge involves the same 15- and 16-year-old students that Viscomi befriended and allegedly had sexually explicit communication with by phone and text message in April. The two girls are close friends, and at least one of them knew the 30-year-old from Centereach before she enrolled in the school, according to Newsday.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the girls and Viscomi had regular contact via text messages and socialized in the studio and at dance-related gatherings. In early April, court documents allege that the first of three FaceTime video calls involved sexually explicit conduct by Viscomi, who allegedly also invited them to play a game of “show and tell.”

A cascade of texts foreshadowed that initial FaceTime interaction, with Viscomi reportedly asking both girls “at what point does this relationship get real?” and imagine the trio as a “secret” group of lovers. That text was followed by an “emoji of a grown man with two girls as girls, along with #jail,” according to court documents.

The texting continued after that first FaceTime. Viscomi reportedly used the same emoji combo and indicated that he was “falling in love” and “in a relationship” with both girls. He also allegedly ordered them to delete the chats.

In another conversation, the girls called Viscomi “daddy.” She supposedly told them that she loved them and the three of them used that adult girl/girl emoji combination again. The affidavit alleges that it was not until the third FaceTime call that the girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct with each other at the direction of Viscomi.

The FBI officer investigating the case asserted that these and other details satisfied probable cause to charge Viscomi with persuading, inducing, and enticing minors, specifically the two girls, to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of conveying a misrepresentation. visual image of themselves involved in said behavior. , whose conduct was actually broadcast live via at least three FaceTime calls,” hence the federal charge.

Defense attorney Steve Politi previously affirmed his client’s innocence, and he did so again regarding the new charge.

“Jordan and I await the evidence that the government believes is important to prove its case against him,” Politi told Newsday. “When all the facts are heard, we believe that the picture that has been painted by state and federal prosecutors will look very different than what is currently suggested.”

Politi also said his client spent nearly two decades as a dance instructor “without incident.”
