London police pelted again at illegal street party

For the second night in a row, London police have come to blows with visitors to an illegal street party.

The agents were thrown at their heads when they wanted to end an unlicensed music party in west London’s Notting Hill neighborhood. Nobody was injured and the revelers quickly dispersed.

Extra protective equipment

Things changed on Thursday when the police intervened in a larger street party in the Brixton district. Fighting broke out with the visitors, injuring 22 police officers.

The parties are not allowed because of the corona rules in the country. London police have deployed additional officers to deal with illegal street parties. The agents also received extra protective equipment.

According to London chief of police Cressida Dick, 100 to 140 police officers who acted against illegal parties and protests had been injured in the past three weeks. She called the violence against her people “completely unacceptable” and announced that illegal parties will continue to be taken this weekend.
