Logistics: around Dijon, Specific Log and Amazon are seeking to better fit into the landscape

Located on either side of Dijon with two 6,000 m logistics platforms2 each in Baigneux-les-Juifs, to the north, and Longvic, to the south, the company Specific Log has just won an EcoVadis gold medal. The internationally recognized rating body for the evaluation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies thus validates the strategy formalized two years ago by this SME from the Côte-d’Or.

Specializing in logistics and the marketing and sales tools of large groups such as Danone, Andros, Bonduelle, Hansgrohe or Starbucks, Specific Log employs 35 people on the two sites and achieves a turnover of just over 10 million euros. euros for 5,000 to 6,000 shipments per year.

“We had already been in this logic of vigilance for several years, on the use of recycled pallets and cardboard, for example, and also in a logic of short circuits even if we work with large national or international groups”, says Franck Beguin , Managing Director of Specific Log. “These large groups were formalizing their CSR policy and we realized that, on our side, we were not far off the mark”, he explains, citing among his most committed clients the three eco-organizations Ecosystems, Screlec and Ecologic France.

“Stay in the Game”

According to the EcoVadis assessment, Spécific Log is among the Top 1% of companies in its sector on ethical, social and human rights criteria, and among the Top 5% of companies assessed in all sectors. “Even if this label is quite discreet, it is a highlight of our proactive approach and a way to stay in the game”, adds the manager who has involved the entire company in this project and plans a new evaluation in two year.

Virtuous logistics is also a model that Amazon would like to be able to display, which is inaugurating its new Longvic delivery agency on June 24, in the presence of local elected officials. The American giant is taking care of its image to better gain acceptance of its model, which is often decried by local populations and environmental associations.

In Longvic, Amazon has called on local businesses and is aiming for environmental certification. The company announces that it will evoke that day “its collaboration with local players and its commitments for local logistics and harmonious integration within the Dijon territory”.
