Edelstein stressed that thanks to vaccination, the country approached herd immunity and this allowed Israel to celebrate recent holidays with virtually no restrictions and risks of a new wave of infections.
According to the country’s Ministry of Health, a total of 836,699 have been identified in Israel since the start of the pandemic. Over the past day, the number of new infections has decreased to 219 from 390 at the end of March.
