DRACHTEN – A woman set her couch on fire in a backyard of a house on the Langewyk in Drachten on Monday evening.
A local resident saw meters-high flames in the backyard and alerted the fire brigade. The police were the first to arrive on the scene and addressed the resident. She had to put out the fire.
According to a neighbor, the woman had received a new sofa earlier that day and had to get rid of her old furniture. She decided to set the couch on fire.
The fire brigade extinguished the fire.
