Not only unsecured KUR, MSME credit with a ceiling of between Rp. 500 million to Rp. 10 billion was also increased to Rp. 20 billion.

Airlangga said that the President asked for the KUR interest, whose ceiling was increased, to remain competitive.

For this reason, his party will meet internally to discuss various programs that can make the KUR interest rate less burdensome.

“The President asked for a competitive interest rate in the range of 6 percent. Of course there will be additions to be discussed internally,” he said.

The options include making the guarantee program through Askrindo and Jamkrindo bigger, providing KUR interest subsidies outside the PEN program with a total of around Rp. 10 trillion per year, as well as accelerating the realization of the PEN budget.

“And if there is an additional budget needed, which is now allocated such as (subsidies) KUR 3 percent to 3 months, MSME credit with subsidies until June, the funds prepared are around Rp. 7 trillion. Of course there will be additions,” said Airlangga.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki hopes that the additional portion of credit for micro-businesses will encourage MSMEs to graduate faster.

The largest KUR is credit between Rp. 10 million to Rp. 50 million with a total of Rp. 128 trillion to 3.6 million customers.

Meanwhile, large amounts of credit between Rp. 50 million and Rp. 500 million reached Rp. 59 trillion.
