Offenbach – The 27th matchday is coming up in the Regionalliga Südwest and the next Hessian duel is waiting for Kickers Offenbach. On Saturday (April 8th) the OFC is a guest at the SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz. The match kicks off at 2 p.m. in the Johannisau municipal stadium.

The OFC suffered a severe setback in the fight for the championship in the Southwest Regional League last matchday. There was only a goalless draw against KSV Hessen Kassel at home. As a result, head coach Ersan Parlatan’s team failed to gain ground on SSV Ulm, whose game had been postponed.

Going into matchday 27, Kickers Offenbach are five points behind the leaders, but have already played a game more. Should SSV Ulm win the catch-up game, the deficit would be eight points. The SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerzm, the next opponent of the OFC, also played 0-0 at Wormatia Worms. The promoted team from East Hesse, who is coached by Sedat Gören, is eleventh in the table with 32 points.

OFC player Hosiner looks ahead

OFC player Philipp Hosiner had to nibble on the Kassel game, but is now looking ahead: “The frustration after the Kassel game was extremely high, the night was short and it still doesn’t feel good. We need to put that aside now and develop positive energy so that we can bring those three points home on Saturday and start the positive streak to get as many points as possible in the upcoming games.”

Ersan Parlatan, head coach of Kickers Offenbach, expects a difficult game for the promoted team: “We have to regenerate as quickly as possible and get the necessary freshness. We will prepare for the game and want to play with courage and passion against an opponent who will also push their limits.” (smr)
