7 suggestions (and slightly crazy dreams) to make the Switch even better in 2020

After (a little) dropping the ball with the questionable Wii U, we have to raise our hat to Nintendo; the Switch is a whole console, which even manages to meet some of our wildest desires.

A living room console … also portable? Classic Nintendo franchises … but also several games Third-party? Let’s be frank, the latest from the Japanese manufacturer does not disappoint.

But almost three years after its release, is it perfect? No. Nothing and no one is perfect, not even your dearest mother.

In this sense, we decided to be proactive and make some small suggestions to Nintendo in this new year to help the video game giant to perfect its flagship console.

We all agree, our wishes here may not all be very realistic, but we have the right to dream a little!

So, what would we like to see landed on the Switch in 2020 (or at least in the not too distant future)?

Nintendo 64, GameCube and Wii games

Well, you have to get used to the idea, we will most likely never see a version of Nintendo’s Virtual Console arriving on the Switch.

For our NES and SNES game rages, the library of titles offered with the Nintendo Switch Online subscription may “suffice”. However, what about the classics that appeared on the Nintendo 64, the GameCube and the Wii?

The Switch may not be powerful enough to properly emulate ALL games, especially the most recent, but still, some unforgettable adventures deserve their place on Nintendo’s newest console.

In what form could we see these games land on the Switch?

Whether they too are added to the platform’s online gaming service or rather offered as individual purchases, it is a safe bet that an adapted version ofOcarina of Time for the Switch would spark great enthusiasm around the world.

News from the next Metroid and the rest of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Let’s be lucid, no one expects to put their hands on Metroid Prime 4 or the continuation of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 2020.

On the other hand, the probability of receiving some news about the development of these, or even a fresh shipment of images, is a little less fantasy.

In this sense, a release date for the “second” Breath of the Wild, details on his universe, as well as a full disclosure for the next Metroid would definitely please more than one fan … and make waiting a lot easier!

More party games

We SO LIKE to test the solidity of our friendships Super Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 that we’d love Nintendo to offer even more multiplayer games on the Switch that are great for party nights.

Certainly, the manufacturer of the Switch has received a good helping hand in recent years from third-party developers, we only have to think about Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled or Overcooked! 2, but it looks like no new ideas from Nintendo.

Which brings us to the next point …

A new original franchise

Yes, there was Arms in 2017 and Splatoon in 2015 … but don’t you think Nintendo is ripe for a new franchise? Regardless of the form, the company rarely misses the mark when it decides to try something new.

Obviously, we can debate the fact that Nintendo may already have enough original franchises and that it should rather work on new titles for the characters that we know and appreciate.

But who doesn’t like surprises and a touch of renewal? Especially since with the renewed public of the brand, freshly acquired thanks to the Switch, the playing field for Nintendo is wider than ever.

In any case!

A Netflix application

Who has never dreamed of being able to watch Netflix on his Switch between two small sessions of Super Mario Odyssey?

The console screen is neither the largest nor the most efficient, but it would be more than enough for a few episodes of The office on the go (as long as you have Wi-Fi) …

Maybe some three years later, Netflix and Nintendo will end up making a phone call to chat and take action!

Rare franchises return to Nintendo

Casually, relations between Nintendo and Microsoft have visibly warmed up in recent months. The arrival of Minecraft, Cuphead and Ori and the Blind Forest on the Switch, the inclusion of Banjo and Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; in short, we can clearly see the two giants continue to collaborate.

Last August, Microsoft let know that his studios were not planning to release any other exclusives on competitor consoles … but, let’s say we were talking about franchises that already exist and that have already populated Nintendo’s machines?

For example the classics of Rare ?!

GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, old Donkey kong?

We want them all, so take them home!

A game starring Wario and Waluigi

The WarioWare miss you? You still haven’t recovered from Waluigi’s absence in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Well, we, too, feel all these slightly sweet and sour emotions.

The BEST duo of brothers imagined by Nintendo (yes, you read that right) deserves better than appearances in the company’s multiplayer titles.

Waaaa!

And you, what do you want for the Switch in 2020?
