Italian citizens will still have the option to return from India if they test negative for the corona virus upon departure and arrival. Germany already announced on Saturday that it will ban most travelers from India out of concern about the new corona variant. According to German government sources, this decision will be officially announced on Monday.
Belgium reported on Friday that it wants to tighten the rules for travelers coming from high-risk areas. The seven-day quarantine they have to serve must become stricter. A total of 389,492 deaths have occurred in Brazil since the first Covid-19 case in February 2020, making it the second worst hit country in the world in absolute terms, after the United States.
The number of cases and deaths started to increase exponentially from January, mainly due to the spread of the more contagious Amazon variant of the virus. The country has so far vaccinated 5.8 percent of its population, or 12.4 million people.
