DFB-Pokal live on free TV today: Sport1 shows BVB vs. Braunschweig
Am Tuesday (December 22nd) the appearance of the BVB live on free TV at Eintracht Braunschweig. Sport1 broadcasts the duel and the preliminary reporting begins at 6 p.m.

Football live today on TV and in LIVE STREAM: BVB continues lackluster (SID)
Not endangered, but lackluster: Vice-champions Borussia Dortmund reached the round of 16 with a job win in the DFB Cup. The fifth in the Bundesliga prevailed 2-0 (1-0) at the second division promoted Eintracht Braunschweig and was allowed to say goodbye to the short Christmas break after problems in the league and the separation from coach Lucien Favre with a little sense of achievement.
Mats Hummels scored the first goal for the dominant, but often too cumbersome guests. The BVB captain was successful in the twelfth minute with a shot from close range after a free kick by Jadon Sancho. Sancho made the 2-0 himself (90 + 3).
Even in the first half, the guests could have made things clearer. Julian Brandt (22nd) missed a goal after a dropout by Braunschweig goalkeeper Jasmin Fejzic, as did Jude Bellingham, who hit the post in the 35th minute. The mostly too disheartened Lower Saxony opened up an opportunity in the 23rd minute by Marcel Bär, who failed because of Marwin Hitz.
The Dortmund goalkeeper replaced regular goalkeeper Roman Bürki and was one of seven new appointments compared to the 1: 2 defeat at Union Berlin. The new coach Edin Terzic left Marco Reus on the bench, among others, but a change was forced: Super talent Youssoufa Moukoko was missing due to knee problems. Steffen Tigges from Dortmund’s U23, who plays in the Regionalliga West, was in the starting line-up.
Tigges got off to a good start with a dangerous header (17th), but, as expected, could not completely replace top striker Erling Haaland (muscle injury). The force of the Norwegian was sorely missed. Towards the end of the first half, Terzic reacted increasingly annoyed to the increasingly depressurized actions of his protégés.
After changing sides, Dortmund’s negligence in exploiting opportunities continued. Again Brandt did not hit the goal in a promising situation (51.). And it almost came to an equalization five minutes later: Bär hit the crossbar after a counterattack. Terzic reacted and sent Reus for Brandt in the 63rd minute.
After all: The Dortmunders were spared a disgrace like 15 years ago. At that time they lost in the same place against the North Germans in the first round with 1: 2. “You can never completely forget something like that,” said Michael Zorc before the game, then as now, as sports director at BVB in office and dignity.
