LIVE | Italy and France: Daily death toll continues to fall Inland

The number of people who died of the coronavirus in Italy is lower than a day earlier. The recorded death toll from the past 24 hours is at 194, compared to 243 a day earlier. At least 30,395 people died of the virus. France also reports hopeful figures on Saturday.

The virus has been diagnosed in 1083 people. That is about 300 less than on Friday. This brings the registered number of infections to 218,268.

Italy has the highest recorded death toll after Covid-19 after the United States and the United Kingdom. In terms of infections, only the US and Spain have a higher figure.

Paris: lowest number of corona deaths since April

In France, eighty people have died from the corona virus in the past 24 hours. That is the lowest number since early April. 243 people died on Friday. The registered death toll is now at 26,310.

The pressure on hospitals and intensive care units in France continues to decrease, as fewer people with Covid-19 are hospitalized again. Currently, 2812 people are in ICU and 22,614 are in hospital. The number of detected infections in the country has increased from 433 to 138,854.
