LIVE Beach pavilions may be left in the winter, but not open Inland

Beach pavilions are allowed to remain during the winter season. This saves the owners a high cost of taking them down and rebuilding them next year. But the pavilions are not allowed to open in winter.

The trade association Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN) had requested this. The cabinet will only allow it once because of the corona crisis, according to minister Kajsa Ollongren (Interior).

“This reduces the chance that entrepreneurs will get into financial difficulties as a result of the corona measures,” the minister writes to the House of Representatives. Only the main building may remain.

Many pavilion owners, like other catering companies, are struggling because they opened up later due to the corona crisis. They can also receive fewer customers because they have to take into account the 1.5 meter rule.
