According to Layoff.fyi, a website that monitors layoffs for startups, the wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was the first stroke of the startup honeymoon. One by one, businesses fell, and those who survived fell in the end just when the pandemic hit.

The data recorded that there were 808 startups laying off workers worldwide. As a result, it is estimated that 135,302 startup employees have been laid off. This data has been calculated since March 11, 2020, in the early phase of the pandemic.

From Southeast Asia, only Singapore is included in the top 20 startups with the most layoffs, namely Agoda. Of course, everyone hopes that this startup wobble can be overcome and will not have an impact on Indonesia.
