Lion Air Admits Loss of Flying ATR 72 Propeller Aircraft, but…

Jakarta

Lion Air Group admits that the airport has lost because it operates ATR 72 aircraft. Even so, they will still use this aircraft to reach remote areas.

Lion Air Group admitted that the operation of the ATR 72 propeller plane was still a big loss because the avtur price at small airports was more expensive, when compared to the avtur price at big airports.

So far, the Lion Air Group, especially Wings Air, has operated a lot of ATR 72-500 and ATR 72-600 propeller aircraft to reach destinations at the sub-district and district level on inter-island routes to the outermost islands in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.

Unmitigated, until now Wings Air has recorded an average of 200 flying frequencies per day for these routes.

Although still at a loss, Wings Air with the ATR 72 aircraft will continue to serve the flight network, with the following considerations:

1. Efforts to contribute to government programs in line with the regional and national economic recovery phase.

2. Helping to create interconnected transportation: inter-sub-district, inter-regency as well as between regencies and big cities. Wings Air flights with ATR 72 aircraft (propeller) are connected to Lion Air Group flight services, which are operated using narrow body and wide body aircraft at large airports as the main hub.

3. Supporting the smooth mobility of the community and logistics in a fast, safe and secure manner.

4. ATR 72 aircraft (propeller / propeller) accommodate direct flights (point to point) precisely or according to airport infrastructure in areas up to sub-district level.

Lion Air Group always strives to maintain the smooth operation of aircraft while ensuring that they continue to contribute to the community by providing safe, healthy, safe and affordable flight services in the future,” said Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, in his statement, Monday (8/8). /2022).

Lion Air Group continue to evaluate performance and carry out improvements in order to continue to grow and be able to compete by adapting (responsively and quickly adapting) to the business through corporate strategic steps,” he said.
