Linzerie as a new meeting point | Upper Austrian

Everything is new in May. This also applies to the former arcade in Linz. After around two years of renovation, the shopping center not only got a new look, but also got a new name with “Linzerie”. The “Linzerie” was recently opened and is now set to become the new favorite meeting place in the state capital. As the owner, Sparkasse Oberösterreich invested a total of 25 million euros in the renovation. “With the ‘Linzerie’ we also give local entrepreneurs and family businesses the opportunity to present themselves right in the heart of Linz,” emphasizes Stefanie Christina Huber, CEO of Sparkasse OÖ. “Our heart beats for the region and we want to continue to live it and make it tangible. Especially in the current time it is a strong sign that we believe together in the future of stationary retail. “

Tradition and modernity. There is space for around 30 retail and catering businesses as well as Life Radio on a sales area of almost 8,000 square meters. The “Linzerie” now unites international gastronomy as well as owner-managed shops and new brands under one roof. The architectural redesign combines tradition with modernity, because the historic building contrasts with the modern interior. The light-flooded plaza in the central area of the shopping center as well as green wall surfaces create a pleasant atmosphere. As part of the complex repositioning during ongoing operations, around 330 tons of steel and 4,200 square meters of glass were installed in the listed objects and connecting structures.
