Feyenoord could finalize the transfer of Bryan Linssen in the short term, Voetbal International reports Thursday evening. An initial contract offer was declined by the transfer-free Vitesse top scorer, but both parties are still in talks.
Trainer Dick Advocaat would like to add Linssen to his selection and the 29-year-old Limburger also sees a switch. According to VI – which relies on ‘insiders’ in De Kuip – the difference between supply and demand can be bridged. Linssen hopes to be able to make a decision quickly and screens with interest from Germany, Belgium, Greece and China, but has Feyenoord at the top of his list. Feyenoord is prepared to go the extra mile, and VI does not rule out the possibility of an agreement this week.
The stadium club is also working with Leroy Fer, Eric Botteghin and Edgar Ié. The two transfer-free routine drivers and the Trabzonspor mercenary are basically about to leave, but Advocaat would like to keep the three inboard. In that case, Fer and Botteghin would have to settle for a less attractive contract offer. The trainer also wants to keep star Steven Berghuis, but is dependent on any offers from interested clubs.
