A man has just been judge speak Lille court (North). He is accused of having given two stab wounds to a man in the festive district of the capital of Flanders: the Solferino Street.
Two stab wounds on rue Solférino
It is around 2.20 am in the night from Saturday to Sunday when the police are there, after several calls concerning an injured man, rue Solférino.
He is lying on the ground, and received two stab wounds in the armpit.
The victim is conscious when he is taken care of, and will accurately describe Sofiane *, 34, who will be recognized several times “and unequivocally” during the upholstery carried out.
“For a guy on crutches, he was really really fast!”
It was the victim’s cousin who first noticed an individual trying to steal something from his bag. He therefore tried to prevent him, and Sofiane, who was with a friend that evening, explained during his hearing that blows were exchanged on both sides, until the defendant struck the victim of two stabbing.
His friend, who was wearing a cast and crutches, fled. An eyewitness will say to the police: “For a guy on crutches, he was really very fast! “
18 months imprisonment
Everything would therefore have started with an attempt at theft and defense. The defendant denies everything altogether, gets agitated sometimes, but the President reminds him: “You think that there are many men, of North African type, of 1.90 / 2 meters, who wear a t-shirt. blue rue Solférino at 2 am? “.
Realizing that he was still wearing his blue t-shirt during the hearing, the defendant calms down, and launches: “Look at the surveillance cameras then! “.
Difficult, during this hearing, to determine if Sofiane is the author of these stab wounds. The evidence intersects and uncrosses, until the prosecutor decides:
“These stab wounds have been given: we are on the way to conviction.” The defense lawyer Maitre Crevillier nevertheless underlines: “I have the impression that we do not have all the truth in this file”.
The defendant will ultimately receive a sentence of 18 months’ imprisonment with continued detention, and a ban on carrying a weapon for 5 years **.
