On January 9, the plane operated the flight Istanbul – Rzeszow. The weather was foggy in the Polish city – the giant plane was not visible for a long time, although the rumble of six engines can be heard well on the recordings. At the last moment, “Mriya” appeared before the observers, cutting through the fog, after which it parted, showing a clear sky.
“Like Moses is the sea” – wrote one of the commentators, comparing what he saw with the biblical legend.
During this landing, the An-225 “Mriya” damaged the landing gear… The state enterprise “Antonov” emphasized that the detected malfunction did not affect the safety of flight and landing “Dreams”… The damaged part will be replaced and the aircraft will continue on its commercial flight.
Antonov said that extreme landings in dense fog – a real test for pilots and aircraft.
