Second in National 1 last season, right behind Rodez, the Picard club received (in Beauvais) one of its neighbors in the region, Valenciennes, for the start of the season. Passed by Djurgårdens (D1 Swedish) in his career, the Zimbabwean center-forward quickly confirmed himself as the scorer of the HAC. After scoring a double against ACA (2-2), Le Havres once again found their way to the net against Niort (1-1) on the second day. Performances which, subsequently, earned him the opportunity to sign in Lyon.
3rd day : Promoted, Rodez ideally begins his season
National 1 Champion and back in Ligue 2 after 26 years of absence, Rodez probably didn’t expect such a good start to the season. With a victory over Auxerre (2-0), then a conceded draw against Châteauroux (0-0), the Ruthenians had a third game without defeat. A 2-1 success at home against Paris FC and a 4th place…
4th day : Clermont, once again leader of the championship
First in the championship on the second day thanks to two victories, against Châteauroux (3-0) and Troyes (1-2), Clermont could take over the table if they won Orleans. Thing done, with success (0-1), but it will be the last time of the season that the Auvergne club will occupy this place.
5th day : Rodez and Orléans offer the show to spectators
At Toulouse Stadium, where Rodez plays his home games, the men of Laurent Peyrelade will have spoiled the supporters present that evening: 3-3 against Orleans, with an incredible scenario, 6 yellow cards and one red…
6th day : First Le Mans victory since his return to Ligue 2
Six years after leaving Ligue 2 due to great financial difficulties, Le Mans still hadn’t won this season. It took six days to see this emblematic French football club take it home, facing Sochaux (2-0).
7th day : First defeat for Chambly in Ligue 2
After a period of euphoria and six straight games without conceding defeats or a single goal, Chambly finally cracked. At the Pierre-Brisson Stadium, the players of Bruno Luzi are surprised (1-4) by Auxerre.
8th day : Châteauroux and the scarcity of attack
Over the course of a season, there are times when there are more difficult periods, both in defense and in attack. For Châteauroux, it took eight days to appreciate the first goal castelroussin, signed Romain Grange. It was against Grenoble, for a 1-1 draw.
9th day : Orléans and Châteauroux agree their first success of the season, Le Havre its first setback
A start to the season is never easy. For some clubs, likeOrleans and Châteauroux, it took a long time to taste a first success. They were able to overcome the Indian sign, by winning respectively against Troyes (1-2) and at Haven (0-1). Le Havres who suffered their first setback of the financial year.
10th day : Paris FC finally launches its season with its first victory
Last Ligue 2 club not to have won a match this season, the Paris FC faced Troyes (9th), in Charléty. A match that ended in a short 1-0 win for the men of Mécha Bazdarevic, thanks to a counter goal Touzghar. Three points at once, a first, therefore, but not enough to leave the inglorious place of the red lantern.
11th day : A lean day in goals
A day we like little. With a total of nine goals scored over ten games, matchday 11 is by far the least attractive of this season. The lawn where there was the most goal was that of Océane, with a draw between Le Havre and Lorient (2-2).
12th day : Adrian Grbic, the good pick of Clermont
Arrived from SC Rheindorf Altach (Austrian D1) during the summer transfer window, Adrian Grbic had the bet label for the Clermont Foot. Quickly showing good qualities, the striker quickly made an impression by stacking the goals. After 12 days, the latter already had 8.
13th day : Troyes is advancing at high speed
Pocketing 21 points out of 30 is not to give to all clubs. By hosting Valenciennes at the Aube stadium, Troyes was able to add a 7th win in 10 games (3 losses). Enough to keep up!
14th day : Grenoble, an impermeable defense
Not conceding a goal in a match is always a satisfaction. For the GF38 of Philippe Hinschberger, it didn’t last only once but … six. Indeed, thanks to its solid defense and Brice Maubleu, the last bastion and captain, the club from Isère have not conceded a single goal for six consecutive days.
15th day : Niort finds the way to victory against Rodez
A negative streak, when it lasts, can start to weigh heavily on the morale of the players. With a total of eight league winless games, Niort had to stop this hemorrhage by returning to success. What was done with a victory for René Gaillard against Rodez (2-1).
16th day : Lens sees red in the derby against Valenciennes
Moving to his neighbor’s Valenciennes, Lens had the opportunity to keep their place in Ligue 2 if they won. Unfortunately for the Sang et Or, then trained by Philippe Montanier, they left Hainaut on a defeat (0-2) and with 2 reds. The VAFC, it won for the first time on its ground since August.

19th day : Le Mans claims victory in fear match against PFC
Nineteenth in the championship before this meeting, Le Mans was in a very uncomfortable position before receiving the Paris FC, 18th, just one point from Manceaux. In this match of the fight for the maintenance, the Sarthois ensured the essential by winning with manner (3-0) in front of their spectators, thus allowing them to give a little more air to the classification.
20th day : Sochaux, the “big” halt
Sochaux no longer advances. The Doubistes have not won since November 23, and took only 3 points out of 18. Dreams of play-offs are taking flight and the slow slide down has become a reality. Shortly after the truce, the FCSM found itself 10th.
21st day : Guingamp bows to the red lantern and sees his competitors take off
Guingamp and inconstancy in its purest form. The Bretons were defeated at Orleans and see their chances of finishing in the top 5 move a little further. The Costarmoricans are 11 lengths behind the 3rd Ajaccio…
22nd day : Paris FC and Niort leave in a draw… with 4 goals on each side
Spectacular, it is not the most appropriate qualifier for the PFC and Niort games this season. However, this opposition in Deux-Sèvres was a real pleasure to follow. A draw, of course, but 8 goals scored. 4 on each side with a triplet: Ibrahim Sissoko for Chamois.
23rd day : Niort goes on a crazy match, but bows this time
New offensive demonstration for Niort. After the 4-4 against the PFC, the Chamois pass 3 to Caen… Unfortunately for them, success is not there. The Normans even won 4-3 in a crazy scenario.
24th day : Paris FC finds the way to victory
Eight days of Ligue 2 without success, time can quickly seem long. For the capital club, the victory against Chambly looks like a relief. The Parisians of René Girard even come back to a point of Niort, the first non-relegation.
25th day : Auxerre, the offensive breakdown
Twelfth before the start of this day, l’’AJ Auxerre already has little to look forward to this season. So, we still have to prepare for the next season, and give pleasure to our supporters. They didn’t take it against Chambly, after a sad virgin draw.
26th day : Lens at a standstill
A victory in four games (two draws and one loss) in the last four games, the Sang et Or were probably expecting to do better in terms of the climb. After falling to Châteauroux (2-3), the Lensois sink at home against Caen (1-4). A defeat that will lead to the dismissal of Philippe Montanier. Racing, 3rd after this weekend, is on a downward slope.
27th day : Lorient sees its competitors return to its height
A home victory against Le Mans, a defeat by neighbor Guingamp and a against Clermont, a minimalist success at Rodez … The 27th day promised to be particularly important for the Merlus, who received Chambly. But the Britons were defeated 2-1 in a non-match. The pack of pursuers is getting closer.
28th day : Nancy accumulates her 16th draw of the season
On the move on Niort’s lawn, the team led by Jean-Louis Garcia has the opportunity to distance himself from his evening opponent, eighteenth and roadblocker. Wasted effort. The Lorraine club conceded in the Deux-Sèvres an umpteenth draw (1-1). The 16th of the season in Ligue 2!
