The tenth day of L1 has just ended and the time has come to take stock for the clubs of the South. On a positive dynamic before this weekend, Nice and Monaco were stopped in their tracks. This did not prevent Marseille from taking advantage of the missteps of its competitors to resume its forward march.
Nice and Monaco, big losers this weekend
It was the poster for this tenth day. Monaco traveled to Groupama Stadium in Lyon on Saturday evening. After three consecutive victories, the Monegasques were jostled against the conquering Lyonnais. That of a serious contender for the podium, capable of titillating PSG. However, the match started badly since it was Lorient who scored first on a penalty from Laurienté (13 ′). But it is a kid from OM, Boubacar Kamara, who will sound the revolt (27 ′) on a center set back from Guendouzi. Parity score 1-1 at half-time, we say to ourselves that the Marseillais can sink as against Lille and Lens.
In the second half, it is a former Lorient house, Mattéo Guendouzi, who allows the Olympians to regain the advantage of a head lobed at the near post on a corner (56 ′). Returning from injury, the Polish striker has lost none of his killer instinct in front of goal. That’s not all, to definitely pay homage to Tapie, a fourth goal was needed. And, once again, it is Guendouzi who will pull away to score a double. Victory without appeal of the Phocaeans (4-1). An ideal victory before chaining two high-stakes games. Olympique de Marseille will challenge Lazio on Thursday in the Europa League in Rome, before the long-awaited Clasico on Sunday against PSG.
