Ligue 1 – AC Ajaccio squad review

AC Ajaccio officially presented the group’s latest recruits for the 2013-2014 Ligue 1 season on Monday July 8. While waiting for reinforcements in midfield and in attack, the Corsican club has already recruited five new players, all in the defense sector.

Anthony Scribe relaunched his career at the ACA after suffering a major injury, a broken foot while playing for Evian in 2008-2009. At 25, the former doorman of USC Corte, trained in Montpellier, had already tried in July 2012 against SC Bastia in a friendly match in Corte. Anthony Scribe has signed for three seasons with the Ajaccio club.

The defender of Guadeloupe origin, Claude Workshop was loaned for a season to AC Ajaccio, without an option to buy, by Olympiakos Le Piraeus, champions of Greece. Trained in Caen, Claude Dielna (25) successively evolved in Lorient (2006-2008, L1), Istres (Istres, 2008-2012, L2) Versatile, very powerful, this large size can be a real asset for the Ajaccien group .

The Italian defender Denis Tonucci signed a two-year contract with AC Ajaccio. Aged 24, this defender trained in Cesena, played in Italian Serie B in Cesena and Vincenza. He totals 90 matches in series B and seems, with selections in under 18, under 19 and under 20, promised a bright future.

Cédric Hengbart signed a two-year contract with AC Ajaccio. Trained in Caen, he played since 2008 at AJ Auxerre (L2) where he totaled 128 games and 9 goals. Cédric Hengbart was AC Ajaccio’s first recruit for the next season. The new Ajaccien can evolve as a right side or in the axis of the defense.

At the end of his contract with Lille, the 33-year-old left-back Laurent Bonnard will experience a new experience in Ligue 1 after his spells at Le Mans, Marseille, Monaco and Lille. He played nearly 260 L1 matches and around thirty in the European Cup. Ambidextrous, this lane player can play as a left or right side as well.

At least three other players are expected from Ajaccio in the coming days.

Former Italian world star Alessandro Del Piero (38), who played in Sydney (Australia), was about to conclude with Ajaccio but the transfer would have finally failed for family reasons.
