Lightyear’s ending and post-credits scenes explained: Is he back… SPOILER?

MADRID, June 19. (CultureLeisure) –

Pixar embarks on a space adventure and ‘Lightyear’. 27 years after his debut in the iconic ‘Toy Story’, finally the space ranger already has his own movie. With Chris Evans replacing Tim Allen as the voice of the character in his original version, the film directed by Angus MacLane has three post-credits scenes one of them revealing about the future of the saga.

((ATTENTION: THIS NEWS CONTAINS SPOILERS))

Of the three post-credits scenes, only the last one is key in terms of a possible sequel. The first is a quick sequence, shown shortly after the end credits begin, that goes along the lines of Pixar’s first films.

The scene shows Commander Burnside, the head of the space guardians, in his office, having his tea, and a giant insect is seen trying to enter the force field that protects the human colony in the planet Tikana Prime. In this sequence, it can be seen that, on Burnside’s shelf, there is a figure of BURN-E, the cleaning robot that appeared on ‘Wall-E’.

The second post-credits scene is also humorous and shows how the DERIC robot manages to find the best route to the spaceship… only when he succeeds in executing his plan, the rest of the team has already left and the mission has finished. . A sequence showing that DERIC has a comedic vibe similar to that of BURN-E. and that it could have its own short film.

It is the third key scene and it appears after all the credits end and even the Pixar logo. In the sequence, pops up Zurg, whose armor lights up again, showing Buzz failed to finish him off, meaning he can cause more trouble for Lightyear and the new team of space guardians.

Without a doubt, the fact that Zurg is alive leaves the door open for a continuation, which could be more in line with the space adventures that the character had. in the television series broadcast between 2000 and 2001. For now, it remains to be seen how it will fare at the box office, as it is also the first Pixar film to hit theaters since ‘Onward’, in March 2020.
