Libuše Šafránková dug into the hearts of thousands of people not only thanks to her role as Cinderella, as evidenced by the enormous sadness that spread throughout the country after her unexpected death. The last farewell is scheduled for June 25, but in the meantime the Roman Catholic parish of Spořilov, together with the Vadima Petrova Art School, decided to organize a neighborhood piety for the famous actress, where dozens of fans of the deceased star arrived.
Libuška Šafránková was rightly one of the most respected actresses in our country. The beautiful brunette has played dozens of film and theater roles during her career and has always managed to excel.
A few years ago, Šafránková suffered from lung cancer, and after overcoming a serious illness, she withdrew from the public eye. In recent years, she has focused mainly on her grandchildren. She really enjoyed and fulfilled the role of her grandmother, perhaps that is why she no longer had the ambition to return to acting.
The actress celebrated her 68th birthday on Monday, June 7. But two days later the sad news came, the star beloved by everyone died unexpectedly.
The Roman Catholic parish in Spořilov organized a neighborhood piety for Libuška Šafránková
Libuška Šafránková was not only popular with her fans, she was also admired by her colleagues and neighbors for her kind nature. Since the actress lived with her husband Josef Abrhám in Spořilov for many years, the inhabitants of this part of the city decided to organize a piety for her.
“Come and pay tribute and light a candle for Libuše Šafránková, an excellent actress and a beautiful Cinderella, who will forever remain in the hearts of many generations,” said the official invitation. The event took place at the church of St. Anežka Česká above Roztylský Square in Prague. Petr Regalát Beneš gave a memorial speech at half past five, and artists from Vadim Petrov’s Art School also performed.
Many people arrived at the place, and the Saffrons came to pay their respects. But Spořilov was not the only place where Libuška Šafránková was remembered, a tiny pieta was also created at the Drama Club, where the actress spent most of her career.
