This Thursday afternoon, in Cendre (Puy-de-Dôme), the angry liberal nurses collective led a towing operation at each of the entrances to the roundabout located towards the Intermarché store. There were more than thirty of them stopping motorists, but also passers-by, in order to inform them of their difficulties and have them sign a petition to support them.
The mobilized liberal nurses denounce in particular a non-recognition of the arduousness of their work, deteriorating conditions or administrative overload. They also say forgotten by the Health Segur. Furthermore, since 2009, there has been no increase in the price of technical procedures.

“Above all, I fear for the future of my patients”
Passionate, Caroline Hendryckx, a liberal nurse since 2012 in Cournon, nevertheless indicates that she is afraid for the future of her profession: “Above all, I fear for the future of my patients.. Me, if I have to retrain, I will retrain but my patient will remain patient and dependent on a care system that has been somewhat abandoned.“.
According to her, “we no longer have the means to provide good care to our patients“Due, among other things, to administrative overload, nursing staff find it increasingly difficult to spend adequate time with patients.”We work very early and we finish very late. We get involved a lot but when we spend a whole day doing administration, it poses a problem” says another liberal nurse. She adds, “we get exhausted and it gets harder and harder. It is also very difficult for our patients because we must not forget that at the center of all this, it is the patients who bear this situation.“.

Faced with the situation, Caroline even claims to have questioned her future in the profession: “I admit that I asked myself a lot about continuing. I always go to work with the banana but now it’s getting complicated. It’s true that we are asking ourselves the question of reorienting ourselves and we already have colleagues who have reoriented themselves“.
“People are quite receptive and willing to sign the petition”
Despite this “snail” operation and the disruption of traffic, many people signed the petition to support the demands of nurses. According to Myriam Saut, liberal nurse in Cournon, “Most people are understanding. Even if this snail operation does not please everyone, overall, people are receptive and willing enough to sign the petition“.
Among the signatories of the petition, there is Anne-Marie, she is retired: “I support the medical community because it is truly essential to society. We really need it. I really hope that politicians will take a big step to improve their working conditions“.
To continue to make themselves heard, and obtain answers to their demands, the angry liberal nurses collective is preparing a new mobilization on March 19 in front of the Primary Health Insurance Fund.
