It Girl reading a letter by the window is owned by his museum. The restored version is the main attraction of the Vermeer Exhibition which can be seen here until January 2. He hangs there among nine other Vermeers and 48 other Dutch masters.

Prime Minister Rutte and Chancellor Merkel open the exhibition. It is probably the last time that Rutte will meet Merkel in the position of German head of government. Bundestag elections will be held on Sunday 26 September. Merkel is not a candidate and is stepping out of politics.
