Last weekend, a pleasant surprise was the ability to provide such a ride as … VW Crafter L2H2 version. It was necessary to deliver one piece of furniture with a couple of lures to Talsi, and thanks to the coma, whose company’s fleet consists of such cars, it was possible to combine, so to speak, pleasant with useful. Life has had to drive a variety of buses, mostly Renault Master (and their Opel or Nissan equivalents), but this model is superior in terms of comfort and maneuverability, and it becomes clear why some entrepreneurs are willing to overpay them for 2-3 thousand. .
The bus cab (especially the driver’s seat) is designed to be comfortable to drive long distances – the steering wheel is positioned as vertically as possible, almost like a car, the gearshift is positioned so that the gears can be easily shifted by supporting the arm against the armrest. The speed closes precisely, pleasantly, the stroke of the box is quite short. The steering wheel, unlike its competitors, is compact enough (maybe not quite taken from the Passat or the Golf, but either, it could be from the Multivana), and with a broken bottom. Maneuverability … well, no bus has one. There was no problem entering the doorstep and maneuvering in your narrow center yard. There are so many pockets and compartments for different things in the cab.
The 2.0-liter engine (with a time of 150 hp) “lifts” well in city modes, even with a loaded cargo space. Above 100 km / h, the speed remains slower, but overtaking up to 130 km / h is not a problem. Consumption ferries in the city show about 9.5-10 liters per 100 km, outside – as long as you stay within 100 km / h, you can record 9-9.5 liters, at higher speeds consumption increases quite significantly – the specifics of small engines. And 2.0 is probably a small engine for this size.
One of the disadvantages is the relatively poor sound insulation. The master is quieter.
