As the end of the summer season looms, it’s already time to take stock at Les Genêts d’Or campsite in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
“We come from 83 (Var) and 06 (Alpes-Maritimes) to enjoy our holidays.” These three families, long-time friends, have chosen the Les Genêts d’Or campsite in Bagnols-sur-Cèze to rest and enjoy the landscapes offered by the Rhone Gard and its surroundings. And it has been for several years now. “For some, it’s been 5 to 6 years that they come every summer and others it’s been 9 years,” says the group. Sacred memories will remain in their memory thanks to this stay. When some talk about the Parc Spirou in the Vaucluse, others remember with joy the visit to the village of Goudargues and its market.
This family from the Paris region, who arrived on August 20, has not yet taken full advantage of their stopover in the region. “It’s so hot so we mostly protected ourselves from the heat wave. We only went to the river and the campsite swimming pool,” says the father. But that cannot last. “We would like to go to the Colorado Provençal in Rustrel, in Marseille because our daughters want to go there as well as to Avignon”, conclude the parents.
“It’s a normal season but it started a little late”
Open until September 24, Les Genêts d’Or campsite in Bagnols-sur-Cèze is gradually emptying at the end of August. Yvette, the manager, is nevertheless delighted with a “normal season resembling what we did before COVID. It started a little later but the month of August is a success. In the last few days, we have had departures. It’s normal.” The campsite will continue to live, even in September. “Retirees, pre-retirees and families with young children will come,” she says.
“Gardoes Valleys & Hills Campsites”
An association, called “Campings Vallées & Collines Gardoises” grouping together a dozen campsites, including Les Genêts d’Or, exists. Beneficial mutual aid according to Yvette: “If one of us has a problem, needs a plumber or simply needs motivation, we are there to support each other.”
