The USC Freiburg basketball players lose their captain duo
Personal bang at the USC Freiburg Eisvögeln: The captain duo Lea Ouedraogo and Sara Kranzhöfer are leaving the first division basketball players from Breisgau. Both are drawn to Mannheim due to their studies. Both start there with their master’s degree in psychology.
Ouedraogo in particular, despite her young age of 24, has a long basketball career with USC Freiburg. Since the U12, the 1.81-meter-tall winger has been lace up the shoes for the Breisgau women. Since 2013 she has been part of the first division squad.
Kranzhöfer moved from USC Heidelberg to the Eisvögeln three years ago and quickly won the hearts of fans with their tireless efforts. Now the 25-year-old is taking the next step in personal and academic development together with her team colleague.
“With Lea and Sara we are losing two absolute executives, two extremely decent people who were completely rightly the captains last season,” says Harald Janson, the sporting director and trainer of the kingfishers. “I would have loved to have been in the hall with both of them for the next season. Both of them communicated very early and clearly that they would probably have to change universities. It will be a real challenge for our team to compensate for Lea’s and Sara’s departure. “
